Research On Industrial Transformation And Sustainable Development In Panzhihua

The development of resource-based cities depends heavily on the characteristic resources,industrial efficiency is bounded by resource reserves.Due to the lack of scientific planning in the early stage of resource-based cities,problems such as single industrial structure,high proportion of state-owned economy,destructive exploitation of resources,unbalanced ecological environment,and rising unemployment rate gradually appear.It will appear a series of serious problems,such as economic stagnation,environmental deterioration and aggravated social contradictions,if without timely consideration of the leading industry's change and sustainable development.The competitiveness of Panzhihua pillar industry is severely weakened,because of the continuous downturn in the international and domestic market of iron,steel and coal.The long-term accumulation of institutional contradictions intertwined with the overcapacity,the constraints of factors,and the consolidation and closure of the coal mines,surplus of laid-off workers has increased greatly,and the decline of the leading industry has seriously affected the economic and social sustainable development of Panzhihua.As an industrial city in Western China,Panzhihua relying on its resource endowment has been built for more than 50 years,it formed an industrial structure,which dominated by iron,steel and mining industry,including metallurgy,chemical industry,coal,fuel processing and automobile manufacturing.After years of high-intensity development,resource reserves have been decreasing year by year,and cost of winning have risen sharply.Especially in recent years,Based on the multidisciplinary knowledge of economics,politics,management,sociology and urban studies,this paper takes Panzhihua as the research object,and explores how to steadily promote the industrial transformation of mature resource cities and promote the sustainable development of Panzhihua.The main content of the text is as follows:The first part defines the connotation and characteristics of resource-based cities,and builds a theoretical framework of resource-based cities' industrial transformation under the background of sustainable development,wich based on the theories of industrial economics and sustainable development.The second part,based on data analysis,combing the development process of Panzhihua,and then puts forward the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and challenges of Panzhihua's industrial development,and explores the potential and strategic growth of Panzhihua's industrial transformation.The third part,drawing on the domestic and foreign resource-based cities' transition cases,then looking for the revelation of Panzhihua industrial transformation.The fourth part,put forward the general idea of industrial transformation and sustainable development in Panzhihua.The fifth part,combined with the resource endowment and industrial characteristics of Panzhihua,put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to promote industrial transformation and sustainable development.
