Shipbuilding is a modern and comprehensive industry which serves the technology and equipment foundation for the waterborne transportation,ocean development and defense construction industries.Domestic and international shipping and shipbuilding market has been developing dramatically thanks to the rapid growth of the Chinese economy.Currently,in the Marine Diesel Engine manufacturing industry,there are over 30,000 components in a host equipment,only Thin-walled metric bearings has not been made localization.Therefore,the research and development of Thin-walled metric bearings products can not only break the monopoly of core components in the global market,but more importantly realize 100% localization of the host equipment and enhance the fundamental technology of the shipbuilding industry.G Company specializes in the production and manufacturing of the Marine Diesel Engine auxiliary parts,and its General Manager is a certified senior engineer who has been working in the Marine Diesel Engine related projects for over 40 years,now involving in a Marine Diesel Engine Thin-walled metric bearings related research project.Given the harsh working environment,the Marine Diesel Engine Thin-walled metric bearings must be durable and resistant,also shall have the functionality of impurity bearing.Therefore,it would be necessary to add a certified compound metal from the MAN B&W Company in The bearing inner diameter,so that the host equipment can maintain normal operation.G Company has this specialized Smelting and bonding alloy technology,which has been certified by the MAN B&W Company.However,now G Company is encountering operational difficulties such as: fracturing of the capital chain,lacking of sufficient product series,and inadequate human capital;therefore it would be necessary to establish effective development strategies for the high-powered and low speed Marine Diesel Engine Thin-walled metric bearings projects in order to complete the certification process from the MAN B&W Company smoothly.Firstly,this research analyzes the macro and industrial environment of the Marine Diesel Engine Thin-walled metric bearings project through PEST and the five-force model,and identifies the problems in this industry;secondly,this research analyzes the problems in the project given the current state of the G Company and its Marine Diesel Engine Thin-walled metric bearings projects;based on this analysis,this research then adopts the SWOT methodology to conduct a comprehensive analysis,and proposes the short-term,mid-term and long-term development plans and strategies for the company.In the end,this research provides a few measurements for the successful project implement.
