As an essential part of the ecological environment,glacier makes a significant impact on the local environmental climate,and even the global environmental climate.And studying glacier has been one of the most important things that many scientists do for a long time,and the snow height of glacier is of importance for studying Glacier.The observation system for snow height of glacier is an important media for getting the snow height of glacier.At present,observing snow height of glacier is mainly carried out artificially,which is time-consuming and laborious.And then the automatic observation system will promote the glacier study and the development of glaciology.From a practical standpoint,this thesis designs and realizes an automatic observation system for snow height of glacier,which integrates a ultra-low power consumption 16 Micro-Controller,a power management module,a high precision and low power consumption temperature and humidity sensor,a high precision clock chip,GPS,a data storage unit and a wireless transmission module,and so on.And in alpine region,this system can automatically obtain,store and transmit the temperature and humidity,the height of snow,the geographic coordinates and the altitude of a point on a ice over a long time.Besides,it implements remote human-computer interaction.This system includes Power Management System,Data Acquisition System and Wireless Data Transmission System.And this thesis elaborates on their design,implementation and working principle in both hardware and software.In hardware,function traits of all modules in this two subsystems and the design and implementation of actual circuits for them are elaborated on.And in software,their working principle,driving methods and data processing algorithms are focused on.In addition,relevant work flow charts and portion of the code were given.At the end of this thesis,the debugging process and some testing results about this system are introduced together with a brief explanation.
