The Geological And Geophysical Characteristics Carlin-type Gold Deposit In Fengshan Moutun,Guang Xi

The Fengshan Moutun gold deposit is located in Youjiang gold ore belt which in the north-west of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.It is located in the intersection part of Yangzi platform and South China fold system.The deposit belongs to a sub-category of Carlin-type.Heshan Formation of Upper Permian series is the principal ore-host strata,mainly composed of gray limestone and biologic limestone.The induced polarization anomaly and magnetic anomaly of mineralized bodies are obviously different from nonmineralized bodies.This situation is caused by interlayer-gliding fracture,fault fracture zone,alteration zone and mineralized body.According to the geological characteristics of the study area,we use induced polarization,resistivity,high-precision magnetometry for gold exploration.According to the analysis of field data and study of typical Carlin-type gold deposit both in China and abroad,we summarized ore-bearing strata,structure,magmatite,alteration,geophysical characteristics,we find out five high polarization anomaly belts.The anomaly of No.I and II belt which corresponding to tectonic-alteration belt on the surface are clear.The anomaly indicated the existence of gold orebody(mineralization body).The conclusion is in best coincidence with the appearance of low apparent resistance anomaly and low positive negative magnetic anomalies.Gold in the west of No.1 anomaly have been prospected by someone.Its extending along south-north and extends to the deep.No.1anomaly is the prediction of the blind gold deposit in deep.The high polarization anomaly belt is mainly caused by micro grain gold mineralization which is located at 50-300 meters under the surface.The buried depth of five gold bodies is 50-300 meters,length of the ore body is 40-550 meters and the extension of the width is 80-330 meters.Preliminary prediction shows that the Fengshan Moutun gold mining area has certain gold resources.We suggests taking further geological work and deep drilling to validate the result of geologicalexploration work.
