Bayanwula Mountain is one of the important metallogenic prospect areas,and located at the northern margin of the western part of North China.In this paper,we studied the geochemical characteristics of 17 elements of the measured stream sediments on the south segment of Bayanwula Mountain,and associated with Geology,physical exploration,remote sensing.The results of the geochemical characteristics of the study area shown that: the abundance of Pb?As?Bi?Hg?W?Wo?Mo?Sn?Au elements than crustal,and their belong a high background area;the As?Bi,Hg,W,Mo,Au elements have obviously enrichmental characteristics,,and others have a poor enrichment;the strong differentiational type elements include Bi,W,Au,Pb,Sb,Ag,Mo;the enrichmental elements of the main geological units(Wulashan group Meorachean)include As,Sb,Hg,W,Mo,Sn,Ag,and Au,Sb,Pb elements followed.The comprehensive geochemical analysis results: Au?Ag?As?Sb?Hg?Sn,and Cu?Mn?Zn?Co?Y?Ni,and W?Mo?Bi?Nb respectively have a good correlationThe mainly exposed strata is Ula group Archean,the NE trending,and the crystal substrate of its old metamorphic rocks is the major rock formations.A large number of basic dikes,greenstone belth have exposed in the study area,and the mafic-ultramafic rocks has been seen.Those formations related to mineralization,which includes mafic-ultramafic rocks,granite-greenstone belt,mixing rocks.In the study area,the mainly metallogenic geological conditions following: the pressure control fractures and the accompanying tensile fracture or fissure;the filling quartz veins in fractures of ductile shear zone in the mid-late stage;the mixing alkaline granites;the inner and outer contact zone of rock mass.Through the abnormal of the chemical prospecting of 1: 50000 and 1: 10000 in study area shown that:(1)Au is the main ore-forming elements in the study area,the ore-bearing rocks is the metamorphic rock of granitic-greenstone belt of Ula group Archean,mafic and ultramafic volcanic rocks is an important source of ore mineralization layer;(2)the abnormal elements Ni,Cu,Co,Mn are the mafic characteristic indicator elements of the metamorphic mafic and ultramafic rocks,and indicate that may have formed the iron ore inthe greenstone;(3)the abnormal elements Cu,Co,Ni mainly caused by a large area of ultramafic pyroxenite,and Ni,Fe elements have the possible of mineralizationComprehensive the above analysis obtained that: Au,Fe,Ni,Mo,Ag elements have a better mineralizational conditions,especially Au,Fe,Ni elements have the possible of mineralization in the south segment of Bayanwula mountain.
