This area is located between middle and south Kunlun faults,belonging to southern subduction composite accretion belt.In the long geological history the region has undergone the different stages of the magma activity in Proterozoic,Paleozoic,Mesozoic and Cenozoic.All kinds of mineralization and geophysical and geochemical anomaly in this area is very rich.There are a lot of superior metallogenic conditions in the study area.Based on a comprehensive summary of the basic geology,geophysical exploration,geochemical prospecting,1:50000 regional geochemical exploration and 1:50000 ground high-precision magnetic survey,a number of mineralizing anomalies are delineated.In the research area the 1:50000 stream sediment anomalies have been verified using 1:10000 soil survey.The ore-forming geological background,metallogenic conditions,mineralizing characteristics,distribution of mineral deposits and ore-controlling factors have roughly been described.The main achievements are obtained as following:1.The Triassic Hongshuichuan group is the main ore hosted stratum and is rich in Cu and Mo associated elements of Ag Pb Zn Co V and Au.The strata may be the source bed of Cu and Mo.2.The granite porphyry has high content of SiO2 as well as riching in Na and pooring in K and Ca.The granite porphyry belongs to peraluminous calc-alkaline suite of granitoids,and is the product of cognate magma activity.The characteristics of rare earth elements and trace elements show that the magma has the characteristics of crust-mantle mixing and syn-collisional S-type granite.It is advantageous to the porphyry metallogenic.3.Faults in NW and nearly SN tending are the main structure in the mining area.The intersection of SN and EW faults is close related to Cu Mo mineralization and controls the mineralization alteration zonation in this area.They are the main ore-controlling structures.4.Three A-grade prospecting areas and two B-grade prospecting areas are totally delineated based on the 1:10000 geochemical anomaly characteristics,1:50000 stream sediment survey results and 1:10000 geochemical soil survey in this area.
