The southwest Pacific area is one of the world's favorable areas which has super-large gold deposits.Among them,Papua New Guinea has discovered the world-class oversized volcano rock types of gold deposits and porphyry copper-gold deposits in the recent ten years,It is becoming more and more attention by geological field. This paper selects Papua New Guinea as the study area, applying remote sensing extracted technology to extract alteration information that related to the metal mineralization, then, developing Cu-Au metallogenic prediction research. In order to compare and analysis the metallogenic regularity of world-class super-large deposits,It has reference value to our country's overseas prospecting work. The major findings are as follows:1.Systematically collected the 1:200 M geological and mineral resources in Papua New Guinea, using ArcGIS to establish a geographical and geological mineral database in Papua New Guinea, the database is consisted of basic geography, geology, mineral, remote sensing, metallogenic prediction, mining development, country profiles and other professional contents, the memory form has vector, grid, data sheet, text and so on.2.There has collected 140 datas of digital elevation model, combined the materials in the study area and according to the theoretical method of remote sensing geological information, took advantage of ArcGIS to set up linear and circular geological structure marks, finally, carried out the study area's remote sensing geological interpretations.3.Selected 47 ETM images and on the basis of rock spectral characteristics and regional metallogenic regularity to establish a model to extract remote sensing alteration, applyed "Mask + Principal Component Analysis + Density Slice + Mean Filter" technology to remove the cloud, water, vegetation and other interference factors in images, after that,to get rid of iron and hydroxyl anomalies,on this basis, comprehensive analyzed the Space-Time-Account relationships of remote sensing abnormal alteration and Cu-Au deposits, then, established a Geology-Remote Sensing Predicted Model4.Using the evidence weight method to delineate the Cu-Au prospecting targets in Papua New Guinea, based on analyzing mineralized orderliness and mineralized favourable factors. The prospecting targets includes four areas of Level ?,four areas of Level ? and two areas of Level ? which were regarded as ore prospecting areas. On the basis of it,compiled metallogenic forecast figure, metallogenic regularity figure in Papua New Guinea and other series of standard maps.
