Miao3 oilfield,located in Fuxin uplift belt in the south of Songliao basin,is a north-south monoclinal structure.With complicated fractures,poor seismic data,uneven distribution of oil reservoir,it is difficult to do research on stratigraphic correlation of Quan-4 in Miao3 oilfield and the reservoir types still remain discussing,which lead to a limited petroleum reservoir exploitation.Therefore,there need some new theories and methods to direct further petroleum exploration and development in this oilfield.By means of high-resolution sequence stratigraphy,combined with lithologic,electric and seismic data,Quan-4 in Miao3 oilfield has been divided into 1 long-term base-level cycle(equivalent to third-order sequence),3 mid-term base-level cycles(equivalent to fourth-order sequence)and 12 short-term base-level cycles(equivalent to fifth-order sequence).A high-resolution sequence stratigraphy framework of Miao3 Oilfield has been established.Core data,logging information and sandstone distribution have been applied to study sedimentary micro-facies.Using facies-constrained stochastic modeling method,the reservoir geological model of Quan-4 in Miao3 oilfeld has been built.And on this basis we do research on reservoir characteristics and reservoir prediction.High-resolution sequence stratigraphy proposes a new way in stratigraphic classification and correlation,stratigraphic distribution and hydrocarbon accumulation.It expands thinking of petroleum exploration and helps to clear reservoir types and features in the research area.On the other hand,facies-constrained stochastic modeling method help to achieve quantitative characterization of reservoir and describe reservoir heterogeneity.It covers the shortage of sequence stratigraphy which mainly focus on qualitative analysis.The combination of high-resolution sequence stratigraphy theory and facies-constrained stochastic modeling method,helps to understand reservoir types and features of Quan-4 in Miao3 oilfield.Ten reservoir zones have been predicted with this method.The change from qualitative analysis to semi-quantitative and quantitative analyses in reservoir research provides more reliable foundation for the exploration and development of lithologic reservoirs.
