The demand for high-density large-scale geophysical exploration in the future poses greater challenges to the data transmission capabilities of geophysical exploration systems.Data transmission system,as a kind of network, needs to be researched by using network methods.Computer simulation is a convenient and effective method to analyze the network.Relying on network equipment, links, and protocol models in a mature network simulation environment, the simulation method can easily simulate actual network characteristics and provide a reliable reference for different design solutions. However, simply using a network simulator for simulation is not conducive to the integrity and fidelity of the simulation,as well as the reuse of protocol codes. The paper focuses on the simulation of large-scale seismic data transmission systems.Firstly, the necessity of simulation of the transmission system is analyzed.Based on the comprehensive consideration of the characteristics of the actual station hardware and the embedded computer system running on the station, the simulation platform required for system simulation is described with the consideration of the structure and characteristics of the current seismic data transmission system. The simulation of a large-scale distribution seismic data transmission system is completed based on the platform, which describes the real characters of the station to the maximum extent. For the software part, the simulation uses the FreeRTOS simulator as a platform and transplants the code running in the actual station to the simulator. The hardware part simulates the station behavior and data communication details between the stations through the NS-3 network simulator. Finally, the topology is dynamically built using the configuration file.Compared with the simulation simply using a network simulator, this method is fully guaranteed in terms of scalability, integrity, fidelity, and reusability. The article is mainly divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction.Based on the introduction of the principle of seismic exploration, the development of seismic exploration equipment and the requirement of high-density acquisition conditions for seismic instruments are described. The significance of the research is also analyzed. The second chapter introduces the characteristics of the seismic sensor network used for seismic exploration based on the real case and describes the structure and characteristics of the currently used seismic data transmission system. The third chapter firstly compares and analyzes commonly used network simulators, leading to a conclusion that NS-3 is superior to other network simulators in terms of simulation time and memory usage. Then it focuses on the structure and implementation strategy of the simulation platform composed of FreeRTOS and NS-3 network simulator. The fourth chapter is the concrete realization process of the simulation system based on the seismic data transmission network simulation platform, including the simulation of various station nodes, the establishment of the network topology structure, the design of the external interface of the simulation system and the transplantation of software codes. The basic tests of the simulation system are carried out to verify the feasibility of the network topology description method and configuration method. It also verifies that the simulation system can correctly execute and respond to commands issued by the host. The last is the summary and understanding of the thesis. The main work in the simulation of seismic data transmission network is summarized, and the characteristics and application of the simulation system are analyzed.
