Since the 21 st Century, the contradiction between human and land has become more intense in China.Reclamation of the sea seems to be a good medicine for solving this problem. However, the reclamation is a double-edged sword. While providing great economic benefits, the reclamation also has caused serious damage to the ecological resources of the coastal zone.Land is an important coastal natural resource. Therefore, assessing the degree of influence of the reclamation on the utilization of land resources is of great significance for the scientific and rational planning of reclamation and for the sustainable use of land resources in coastal areas. The overall intensity of reclamation in Huizhou city is relatively low,but the contradiction between sea area utilization and protection is very prominent. It is particularly critical to reduce the negative impact of reclamation.Remote sensing technology,GIS and MATLAB image processing technology are used to extract information about the reclamation in Huizhou City in the past 30 years. The evolution process of different stages of Huizhou reclamation is analyzed. An evaluation index system for the impact of reclamation on land resources utilization is constructed.Taking Huizhou city as an example to carry out an empirical analysis. The main results are as follows:(1)During the 30 years from 1986 to 2016,the total area of reclamation in Huizhou City was 2216.17 hm2.Among them, the reclamation area was 1104.36 hm2 in 1986-1996,and the reclamation was mainly distributed around the Liwan Peninsula,Fanhe Port and Kaozhou Ocean during this period; In 1996-2006,the reclamation area was 525.10hm2.During this period, reclamation was mainly concentrated in the petrochemical industrial area of Xiayong Street and the Liwan Peninsula of Aotou Street; The area of reclamation in the period 2006-2016 was 586.71 hm2,mainly distributed in the Quan Wan Peninsula,Petrochemical Industrial Area,Xiaojingwan, and Huidong Port.(2)During 1986-2016,the reclamation in Huizhou City was used for aquaculture, industry, transportation, urban construction and others. The direction of reclamation in Huizhou City has changed at different stages. From 1986 to 1996,this stage was at the climax of aquaculture reclamation in Guangdong Province.Reclamation is mainly used for aquaculture reclamation; From 1996 to 2006,due to the vigorous development of industrial construction in Huizhou City during this period, the demand for industrial land in the petrochemical industrial area increased, the proportion of reclamation for industrial use increased, and the proportion of sea for aquaculture use decreased; From 2006 to 2016,the demand for industrial land in the petrochemical industrial area continued to increase. At the same time, the construction of a large number of docks was also brought about. As a result,a large number of reclamation lands were used for industrial purposes and transportation purposes during this period.(3)A DPSIR model for evaluating the impact of land reclamation on land resource utilization is established.Based on the model,an evaluation index system, with 25 evaluation indicators, for the impact of reclamation on land resources utilization have been established.(4)Indicators data for the past ten years in Daya Bay District and Huidong County are collected. An empirical evaluation is conducted on the Huizhou City using the evaluation model established. The comprehensive coefficient of the evaluation of the impact of reclamation on the sea reclamation in Daya Bay District of Huizhou City and Huidong County in 2006-2016 was 0.66 and 0.67.respectively.The evaluation results show that the utilization of land resources in Huizhou City is less affected. In the future,Huizhou City should reduce the negative effects of reclamation at some extent and actively develop and use sea resources. Moreover,Huizhou City should economize on the intensive use of sea areas, strictly control the use of reclamation, implement planning requirements, and gradually carry out research on the restoration and repair of coastal seashore belts, and strengthen the assessment of the impact of reclamation on the use of land resources.
