As an important part of logistics,express delivery has increasingly penetrated into various fields of national social and economic development.With the economic integration,the pace of eliminating the dual structure between urban and rural areas has been gradually accelerated.The role of the express delivery industry in driving regional economic development has become increasingly evident.Therefore,it is particularly important to establish a reasonable regional express delivery network.The layout of each express delivery node in the modern express delivery network affects the realization of the optimization process of the whole express delivery network.It is the soul of the whole express delivery network optimization design process to optimize the layout of node units and then construct the municipal express delivery network system.As far as a certain region is concerned,having a good express delivery network system will play a positive role in improving the service quality of the industry,increasing revenue and providing convenience to people.So it has a theoretical significance and practical value to study the distribution of express delivery network to provide the basis for achieving this goal.In this paper,the related theories of express delivery and its network layout are first expounded;secondly,the application of mathematical model method and GIS technology in express delivery is compared and analyzed,which shows the advantages of GIS technology in qualitative and quantitative research aspects.Thirdly,the GIS technolgy is applied to the study of Dalian as the research area and the Novice Station as the research object.The development and distribution status of the Novice Station in Dalian and the population of Dalian are expressed by spatial analysis.Using Tyson polygon analysis and buffer analysis in Arc GIS,the present situation of the layout of Novice Station is qualitatively analyzed.It is concluded that there are imperfect relationship between division and integration,imbalance of supply and demand,imbalance of spatial distribution and unreasonable management mechanism.Finally,based on the road network data set,through the establishment and solution of the model of minimizing the facility point and maximizing the coverage range in the network analysis,the layout of the Novice Station is optimized and analyzed.Using the “two-step method” to screen out the first-level express delivery nodes and the second-level express delivery nodes of express delivery network,that is,the quantitative analysis is realized.Through comprehensive analysis,it can be concluded that the third-level express delivery node,as a convenient service facility,the Novice Station is directly served nearby residents.Through the “two-step method” analysis,it can concluded that the number of the Novice Station should be increased from 1266 to 1325,amongwhich 464 new Novice Station should be added,most of them are located in the rural space in the northern part of Dalian.861 of the 1266 existing Novice Station are served.It is suggested that405 of them should be withdrawn or merged in order to achieve the goal of rational layout of the regional Novice Station.The second-level express node,that is the transit base,as the superior who serves the Novice Station,it has the function of connecting the fisrt-level express delivery node and the Novice Station at the same time.Through the "two-step method",20 second-level express delivery nodes can be obtained,and the scale of these nodes can be expanded appropriately.Increase the number of employees in order to ease the pressure on the volume of business.The first-level express delivery node,that is the distribution centre,has various functions of the second-level express delivery node and the Novice Station.It is also responsible for the backbone of the express delivery network.Using the same optimization steps to get 5first-level express delivery nodes,for these nodes,it is necessary to expand the existing scale of the nodes,in addition to increasing the number of employees,we should also pay attention to the improvement of the quality of personnel.The government should also formulate corresponding policies and management systems,while putting in energy and financial resources to support them so that they can develop steadily and healthily.It has a positive effect on the economic development in the future.Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the existing Novice Station in Dalian by using GIS technology,the location,quantity,service range and service scale of the first-level express delivery nodes,the second-level express delivery nodes and the third-level express delivery nodes are obtained respectively.To put forward some reasonable suggestions on the present situation of layout,to make the express delivery network layout of Dalian more reasonable in order to achieve the purpose of optimization,that is,to realize the perfection of relevant laws and policies,the perfection of the rules and regulations,achieve the express delivery nodes in the city to cover completely,the space layout achieves the most reasonable goal,thus forms the best express delivery network.It provides a good basis for the development of Dalian express delivery industry,can effectively promote the regional economic development,at the same time also has the reference value for the research of other regions in the same direction.
