The Yellow River is a river with high sand content, which poses a great threat to the safe operation of various water conservancy projects. In the more than 10 years, the silt in the reservoir area has reached 30.15 billion m3,accounting for 40% of the total capacity. As the capacity of deposition in the reservoir can be advantages of water less and less, the xiaolangdi design theme function such as flood control(including ice),as a whole the production water supply, irrigation, power generation, and other functions will be discounted. In this paper, the physical model of xiaolangdi water conservancy project is established and the physical model is carried out.Through the verification model test, the hole lassa test and the point of the spiral flow sediment transport system, the solution to the silting of the reservoir and the siltation of the water supply hole were investigated. The experimental results show that the model of the moving bed muddy water model has reached the model simulation accuracy of the study of the blockage problem of the water tower hole, which can be used for the study of the scheme experiment.2)after the elevation of the upstream of the water tower group exceeds the allowable value of 5m to 192 m,the operation of different holes can restore the hole back to normal discharge.3)the spiral flow sediment transport system has the advantages of high efficiency, energy saving, low water consumption and wide sediment transport.Through this series of experiments,it can provide a scheme for preventing silting in the water tower of xiaolangdi junction.Meanwhile, the spiral flow sand transport can also provide reference for other storage areas.
