The upper Paleozoic in Eastern Ordos Basin has the basic geological conditions for forming large gas reservoirs,so it has a great potential for exploration and development. As the present tectonic fracture is one of the main factors controlling hydrocarbon accumulation,so it is necessary to know the law of fracture development in the eastern Ordos Basin and find a tight area of fracture to help find a high production gas well.According to the theory of finite element method, this paper mainly uses numerical simulation method to study the distribution law of stress field in the Taiyuan formation in the eastern Ordos Basin, obtains the distribution law of tectonic fracture development area in Taiyuan formation based on the theory of rock mechanics and geology, and predicts the oil and gas accumulation area combined with the distribution law of stress field and the distribution law of fracture development area. The simulation results of tectonic stress field show that the distribution of tectonic stress field in plane is obvious, and the development of tectonic stress field determines the density of fracture.By using the binary method of rock failure value and energy value to calculate the development density of structural fracture in the study area, the distribution law of structural fracture in the study area is obtained.Compared with the measured values of the drilled well fractures, the results of the study are almost in agreement with the actual situation in the oilfield.Through the comparative analysis of the stress distribution and the fracture distribution and the actual drilling capacity of East Dayao, the law of hydrocarbon enrichment is concluded and the first oil and gas enrichment areas and second oil and gas enrichment areas in other formations are predicted. The research results of this paper have important reference value for the exploration and development of fractured reservoirs.
