Bragg fiber grating has the advantages of small size,light weight,variable shape and so on.At present,there are some important applications in the bridge,tunnel,electricity,aviation and other fields.In this paper,two FBG-based sensors for measurement of the foot are proposed.The is an attempt by FBG in the field of sports biomechanics1.A sensor based on FBG to measure the toe grip displacement is proposed.In the field of sports biomechanics,the Vicon motion capture system and other similar system are generally used to real-time record displacement changes with 4 to 8 cameras and computers.The system is bulky and has a long measurement time.The proposed sensor is calibrated by the Vicon motion capture system to obtain a calibration equation.The sensor can monitor the displacement of the toes in real time,which is convenient,fast and easy to carry.2.A sensor based on FBG for measuring the mobility of the first metatarsophalangeal joint is proposed.After testing,the sensor can be used to measure the first metatarsophalangeal joint accurately.Since the first metatarsophalangeal joint activity is an important biomechanical measure of the severity of the disease that involves the joint and the efficacy of the associated procedure,the sensor can assist the physician in making the clinical assessment.
