In order to explore the effects of wild giant panda grazing for the nutritive composition of Arundinaria spanostachya in Liziping Nature Reserve, the contents of crude protein and crude fat and crude ash of A.spanostachya was examined by using the plots method and the national standard method. In addition, the underground stem of A.spanostachya has been cut to test the effect of clone integration on the content of nutrient composition after grazed by giant panda. The results would contribute to reveal the emergency mechanism of the A.spanostachya and its nutrients to the grazing by the giant panda, and are helpful to suggest effective strategies for conservation of giant panda and its habitat. The results are as follows:1.Before the giant panda grazed, the content of crude protein and crude ash of the branch and leaf in each age-class of A.spanostachya were significantly higher than that of the stem, and the content of crude fat of the branch and leaf was higher than that of the stem. With the increase of age,the content of crude protein, crude fat and crude ash content of the different components of the A.spanostachya showed a decreasing trend, while there was a slight increase in the content of crude fat of the branch and leaf. After the giant panda grazed, the content of the crude protein and crude ash content of the branch and leaf in each age-class was significantly higher than that of the bamboo stem, and the content of crude fat of branch and leaf is higher than that of stem. With the increase of age,the contents of the crude protein, crude fat and crude ash content of the Arundinaria spanostachya showed a decreasing trend. There was no significant difference in crude protein, crude fat and crude ash content of each bamboo age between the grazing and controled plots after grazing by giant panda. With the increase of bamboo age, three nutrients in grazed plots and control plots were gradually accumulated. This shows that the grazing habits of giant panda have no effect on the nutrient composition of the A.spanostachya, which is conducive to the sustainable utilization of A.spanostachya for giant panda.2.Before the underground stem was cut,the crude protein content of the branch and leaf of the A.spanostachya was significantly higher than that of stem. With the increase of age.The content of crude protein and crude fat of A.spanostachya showed a tendency of decline. The crude ash content of branch and leaf was significantly higher than that of stem. After the underground stem has been cut,the crude fat content of the A.spanostachya decreased in each age-class,while the decline trend was not obvious. The crude ash content of branch and leaf was significantly higher than that of stem. After the underground stem has been cut, there was no significant difference in crude protein, crude fat and crude ash content between the grazing and the control plots. With the increase of bamboo age, three nutrients in grazing and control plots were gradually accumulating. The results showed that the contents of crude protein, crude fat and crude ash were not affected by the cutting of underground stem, and the nutrient composition of the A.spanostachya has not changed due to the clonal integration effect. Its nutritional components also gradually accumulate with the increase of bamboo age.3.For the same grazed plots, the content of the crude protein and crude ash content of the branch and leaf was significantly higher than that of the stem in the same bamboo age-class of A.spanostachya in grazed plots. With the increase of bamboo age,the contents of the crude protein, crude fat and crude ash of the A.spanostachya showed a decreasing trend. After the underground stem has been cut,the content of crude fat has decreased in a fluctuation way in each age-class.There was no significant difference with content of crude protein, crude fat and crude ash of the A.spanostachya between with and without cutting the underground stem in grazed plots. The nutritional composition of different components of the A.spanostachya showed a downward trend, and also the difference was not significant. The results showed that both the grazing disturbance and the cutting of the underground stem did not affect the nutrient composition of the A.spanostachya.The population of the A.spanostachya will return to its original state as soon as possible, and it will be re-utilized by the giant panda. The results showed that: the grazing disturbance of giant panda has no effect on the content of crude protein, crude fat and ash, which is not attribute to the cloned integration effect.
