Distance measurement plays an important role in our production and life.With the development of society,more stringent requirements are placed on the accuracy and range of ranging.Laser ranging technology has emerged as the times require.Due to the inherent characteristics of lasers,laser ranging can achieve very high precision,and now laser ranging has entered all areas of society.Laser ranging control system determines the accuracy and range of laser ranging.This paper aims to design a high-precision and longrange laser ranging control system.The principle of laser distance measurement is mainly divided into pulse distance measurement method and phase measurement method.This paper first studies and analyzes two kinds of laser ranging technology,and determines the pulse laser measurement by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two distance measurement methods.Distance study.In this paper,based on the principle of pulsed laser ranging,a ranging system is designed and implemented.The system uses FPGA as the core control chip.High precision timing chip TDC-GPX as timing chip.The chip's timing accuracy can reach picoseconds.For the time chip,the larger the time range,the larger the error.Therefore,many current system time ranges have a certain range.This paper aims to design a time measurement system to achieve a wide range of high-precision distance measurement.In order to realize a large range of high-precision distance measurement,the system combines the pulse counting with the TDC time measurement to make the system not only have the capability of long-term measurement by the pulse counting method,but also has the characteristics of high accuracy of the TDC time measurement method,realizing a large amount of time.High-precision time measurement.The system design includes software design and hardware design.Each part of the article is elaborated in detail.Generally,the system will be affected by noise more or less during the system work process.In order to eliminate the influence of noise factors on the distance measurement system.The data processing method is also discussed,And through the data processing to verify the data processing method of abnormal data processing capabilities.At the end of the article,each part was tested and the results showed that all parts can work normally,and the overall system timing performance also meets the demand.
