This thesis studies the optimal components allocation policy of a k-out-of-n system composed of n independent subsystems. Each subsystem includes one or several allocative components arranged in parallel(series),and these allocative components are drawn from a randomly selected batch of manufactured components. This thesis compares two allocation policies by means of the majorization order. As a consequence, this thesis gets the optimal allocation policy under the constraint of the maximum number of components allowed for each subsystem and the entire system. This thesis also analyzes the influence of the batches heterogeneity on the reliability of k-out-of-n system.Firstly, for the series-parallel and the parallel-series system, this thesis shows that when one allocation vector is majorized by another, then the series-parallel(parallel-series)system corresponding to the first(second)vector is more reliable than that of the other. Moreover, this thesis also studies the impact of changes in the number of subsystems on system reliability and the influence of the selection probabilities of subpopulations on the system reliability.Secondly, for the k-out-of-n system, this thesis shows that when one allocation vector is majorized by another, then the parallel(series)redundant system corresponding to the first(second)vector is more reliable than that of the other. Moreover, this thesis also studies the influence of the selection probabilities of subpopulations on the system reliability.
