The main purpose of this paper is to raise a new clay mineral content calculation method.Under the premise of fully understanding the structure and sedimentary background of the He-8 member of the study area,various calculation methods were applied to predict the clay mineral contents of chlorite,illite,kaolinite and montmorillonite with logging data.The calculation results of various methods were analyzed and evaluated,and a calculation model suitable for the He-8 member was found.The clay mineral content of the He-8 member of the study area was predicted by this model,and compared the plane distribution law with the sedimentary facies.At first,we used the plate method to analyze the types and contents of clay minerals in the He-8 member of the study area,but it is impossible to distinguish chlorite.Among the three clay minerals of illite,kaolinite and montmorillonite,the content of illite and kaolinite is higher and the montmorillonite content is lower.Calculation of clay mineral content by using natural gamma ray spectrum logging data uranium-potassium potassium regression method and combined parameter regression method,we can found that the correlation between the content of the clay minerals and the calculation results is not obvious,which may be related to the mixed source area of the source in the three directions of the study area,and there are more influencing factors.In this complicated situation,the advantages of artificial neural networks are gradually emerging.The prediction of clay mineral content by artificial neural network is better,which is in line with the actual situation.According to the prediction results,the content of chlorite and illite in the He-8 member clay minerals of the study area is higher than kaolinite and montmorillonite.The distribution of clay minerals has a certain relationship with the provenance and sedimentary facies.Higher distribution of total content of clay minerals,higher absolute content and relative content of chlorite,absolute content and relative content of illite is consistent with the distribution of reticulated river channels.Lower absolute content and relative content of kaolinite,lower absolute content and relative content of montmorillonite are probably distributed straight the reticulated river channels.
