Cephalcia Panzer,1803 is a genus of Cephalci:inae,Pamphiliidae of Hymen-optera.Species of the genus is a group of important insect pests of forest plants. This thesis discussed the systematic research situation of the genus in China and world.A full list of the species and their distribution data of the genus is proposed. The biological characters of the genus is also briefly discussed.Based on the external characters, the genus is redescribed and the species are systematically revised.A key to species groups and the known species of the genus from Palaearctic region is provided. The 33 k:nown Palaearctic species are divided into 8 species groups:C.chuxiongica group including 3 species,C.tienmua group including 3 species,C.pinivora group including 4 species,C.sichuanica group including 3 species,C.puncticlypea group including 2 species,C.stigma group including 1 species,C.isshikii group including 2 species, and C.abietis group including 15 species. The 26 Chinese species of the genus are recorded,5 of them are described as new to science:Cephalcia glabroceps sp.nov.and C.puncticlypea sp.nov.from Zhejiang,C.rufoantenna sp.nov.from Jilin,C.xiaoi sp.nov.from Zhejiang and C.wui sp.nov.from Gansu.A new-combination is proposed:Cephalcia xanthiana(Wei et Niu,2008),comb.nov.transferred from Acantholyda A.Costa.The male of C.xanthiana is reported for the first time.To each Chinese species of Cephalcia, the Chinese name and the Latin name, the citation records, the records of the specimens examined in the study, the distribution data, the information of the host plants,as well as the diagnosis of the species are proposed in detail. To the 5 new species,a detailed description of the adults and the etymology of the species name are also proposed.Except for a few species that the author have not checked the specimens, the illustrations of adults and external characters of each species are provided.
