Wavelength Division Multiplexing(WDM)has become the technology of choice to meet the rapid increase of bandwidth and capacity requirements of communication networks.The phased-array waveguide grating(PAWG)device is one of the key technologies for WDM systems.However,the structure of arrayed waveguide grating devices is complex,and the optical layout design software currently on the market is weak in drawing the layout of array waveguide grating.Therefore,this paper simulates the arrayed waveguide grating device,and adds curve library and arrayed waveguide grating library to the selfdeveloped optical layout software to realize the function of drawing the arraye waveguide grating layout automatically based on the input parameters.Firstly,according to the structure,grating equation and performance index of the array waveguide grating,the 1x8-channel array waveguide grating with the central wavelength of 1552.524 nm and the channel wavelength interval of 1.6nm is simulated with kirchhoff diffraction theory.The simulation results show that the insertion loss is between-0.432~-1.811 dB and the cross-talk between channels is less than-40 db.Secondly,aiming at the problem that the drawing precision and truncation error of the curve of the layout software currently on the market can not meet the requirements of optical devices,a curve library is established in the self-developed optical layout software,which is divided by the machine according to the layout and the error can reach the level of nanometer and meet the requirements of optical devices.Finally,on the basis of the curve library,the data provided by the array waveguide grating structure and simulation results,the arrayed waveguide grating library is established in the self-developed layout software.The user only needs to input the command and parameters to call the array waveguide grating library,and the corresponding array waveguide grating layout can be obtained in the layout software,and also can be saved as files in the formats of.SCR,.CMD and GDSII based on actual demand.In addition,the sawtooth waveguide structure is added to both sides of the input and output planar waveguides to reduce the noise interference of the beam propagating in the planar waveguide.Compared with the traditional layout scheme of arrayed waveguide grating,the method in this paper has smaller error and higher precision,the process of drawing is also more convenient and efficient.
