Seismic wave energy decreases rapidly when propagation in the unconsolidated near surface area, which significantly reduces the resolution of seismic data. Thus,it is of great practical necessity to enhance the seismic solution by compensating for the near surface absorption. This paper firstly in-depth analysis of the practical seismic data acquired by the conventional uphole survey, and we summarize the main factors that affect the near surface Q estimation. Then,we present a new geometry which combines the surface and borehole surveys to reduce the effect of the source and the geophone coupling on Q estimation.Afterwards, the new geometry was applied to Kongdian work area,Dagang Oilfield, and the near surface absorption structure model has been established based on the Q value of 48 observation points. Finally,we removed the effect of the weathering layer absorption on seismic resolution through inverse Q filtering.
