The relationship between porosity and permeability of the Cretaceous sandstone reservoir in the Kuqa foreland environment is abnormally complex. In this paper, the petrological characteristics, physical properties and reservoir porosity-permeability relationship of reservoir sandstones are studied. The characteristics of each section are described in detail. The evolution process, evolutionary model, controlling factors are discussed in depth. The relationship between porosity and permeability of sandstone reservoirs in most sedimentary basins is a single positive linear relationship in the logarithmic coordinate system of permeability, while the porosity of Cretaceous sandstone in Kuqa foreland environment is a complex. The porosity-permeability relationship can be decomposed into four sections:the high-porosity,high-permeability medium positive slope section, the mid-porosity,mid-permeability low positive slope section, the low-porosity,high-permeability high negative slope section, the low-porosity,low-permeability high positive slope section. The first porosity-permeability section represents the normal buried compaction and cementation process, the porosity between 8%and 20%,the permeability between 0.1×10-3?m2600×10-3?m2,which is a better reservoir. The second to fourth sections are the medium low porosity, medium low permeability dense sections subjected to normal burial compression and then tectonic compression, with very low porosity and permeability. In the second section subjected to strong tectonic compression, the porosity is mainly distributed between 2%and 8%,and the permeability is in the range of 0.01×10-3?m20.1×10-3?m2.In the third section subjected to tectonic cracking, the porosity is mainly between 2%and 8%and the permeability is in the range of 0.1×10-3?m210×10-3?m2.In the fourth section subjected to strong compression and strong cementation, the porosity is mainly distributed between 0.25%and 2%,and the permeability is in the range of 0.001×10-3?m20.01×10-3?m2.The porosity evolution of the study area experienced an early process of porosity and permeability evenly decrease in the cause of early burial compaction and cementation,a late process of porosity decrease permeability mild decrease, porosity decrease permeability increase, porosity and permeability decrease,in the cause of tectonic compression. These process results in four types of reservoir.
