3D laser scanners is cutting edge during the developed in recent years in the field of measuring.And because of the characteristic of initiative,high efficiency,high precision,non-contact,digital,automation,it is widely used in surveying and mapping engineering,deformation monitoring,area and volume calculation,digitization and protection and restoration,digital city and other fields.The paper used the 3D data of the experimental terrain obtained by the 3D laser scanner,and used the relevant software and related data processing algorithms to process and analyze the original point cloud data,and explored the theory and method of applying the 3D laser scanner in the actual topographic measurement.Domestic and foreign application status,working principle and workflow were presented in this dissertation firstly.Secondly,the related algorithms used in the post-processing of the original point cloud data were described,including data denoising algorithm,data registration algo rithm,data gridding algorithm and data difference algorithm.Then by the experimental results the advantages and disadvantages of related algorithms are compared and analyzed to choose the appropriate algorithm.This paper mainly relied on the research of physical model of beach protection research.By using the Trimble CX 3D laser scanner to obtain experimental data,MATLAB was used to post-process the original point cloud data.this paper used surfer12 software and AutoCAD14 software to model and reproduce the processed point cloud data to generate the required 3D topographic map,point cloud map and contour map.By analyzing the point cloud map and the contour map,the topographic evolution of the experimental area before and after the experiment was obtained.Finally,the protective effects of different design schemes on the beach were studied according to the terrain evolution.The research shows that the 3D laser scanner and the corresponding data post-processing method can obtain the terrain evolution of different time zones in different areas of the beach efficiently and accurately,and achieve the expected effect.This technology has broad application prospects in practical engineering applications.
