Lithium has very active chemical properties and is widely used in various fields.It is known as "industrial monosodium glutamate","the energy metal of the 21 st century" and "white oil".In recent years,with the rapid development of the lithium industry market driven by the high-tech industry,the strategic position of lithium has gradually become prominent.Only in the past five years,the global investment in lithium exploration has increased by 50 times,and lithium has become the focus of global competition.Although China's lithium resources are very rich,they are limited by lithium extraction technology and have a high dependence on foreign countries.Therefore,in addition to strengthening exploration in China,it is necessary to learn from the experience of foreign mining companies and provide certain reference for Chinese mining companies to "go global" in combination with the investment of Chinese enterprises in local areas.Lithium compared China market situation,lithium highlight the change of the market in the future,at the same time through the global distribution of lithium resources,analysis of the characteristics of the ore deposit types and metallogenic regularities,both at home and abroad respectively division of lithium resource potential area,and combining with related countries overseas lithium resources exploration,the country's political stability,mining policy,mining market activity and examples of successful Chinese companies to invest in its environmental analysis.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows :(1)global lithium resources are abundant and highly concentrated,distributed in the "lithium triangle" region of South America,the United States,Australia and China.Among them,brine deposits is mainly distributed in the Tibetan plateau of China and the Andes mountains of South America,and pegmatite lithium ore is widely distributed,mainly in Australia,the United States,Zimbabwe,Canada and other countries.The metallogenic epoch developed from Archean to Cenozoic.(2)China is rich in lithium resources,but as the largest lithium consumer in the world,its external dependence is still high due to the limitation of lithium technology and other factors.In the future,with the rapid development of new energy vehicles,the supply gap may further widen.(3)In China,13 lithium potential areas can be focused,and efforts should be made to explore and exploit lithium resources in Xinjiang,Qinghai,Sichuan and other regions,and further research should be made on lithium extraction technology.(4)overseas investment should focus on the 10 major potential areas of lithium resources.Countries with mature lithium exploration in Canada and Australia can participate in the investment,and countries with low exploration in Argentina,Mexico,Serbia and Zimbabwe can invest in greenfield projects and participate in the whole exploration process.
