In terms of utilizing tidal energy, the turbine is the most important energy conversion device, and the structural design of the turbine will ultimately affect the utilization efficiency of tidal energy. For vertical axis turbines, the blade form has an important impact on turbine performance. This paper mainly explores the influence of the number of different openings on the blade surface of the vertical axis turbine on the hydrodynamic performance of the turbine. The specific research contents are as follows:(1)The development prospects of hydraulic turbines and the research status at home and abroad are briefly described. The force analysis of turbine blades is carried out.The relevant dimensionless parameters are defined and the CFD method for hydrodynamic performance of open-faced blades is explored.(2)The influence of the number of vane openings on the hydrodynamic performance of the turbine was studied.(a)In order to make the open hole form consistent, four open hole forms with different horizontal sections are designed. The first and second forms of opening mainly change the pore size of a single hole, and the difference in hydrodynamic performance before and after opening is studied. After the research,it is found that the first type of opening form has a greater influence on the turbine, and the second type of opening form has a small influence. In order to facilitate the comparison, the first type of opening is used as the prototype, and 2,4,6,and 8 holes were opened in the direction of the exhibition to study the effects of different hole numbers on a single row of holes.(b)In the case where the number of holes on each column of holes is four, one column of holes, two columns of holes, and three columns of holes are designed, and the influence of column number changes on hydrodynamic performance is studied.Through the numerical simulation research, the torque as azimuth curve is obtained, and the variation law of the energy capture coefficient C_P with the tip speed ratio is obtained.(3)A towed pool test study was carried out.Through the pool test study, the test results of the non-perforated blades were compared with the numerical simulation results to verify the reliability of the numerical simulation. The comparison results show that the numerical simulation method is reasonable for studying the effect of opening on the hydrodynamic performance of the turbine.
