The mining of marine mineral resources is paid attention to extremely,due to serving as a most promising emerging industry in the 21 st century.At present,it is recognized that pipeline hydraulic lifting mining system using lifting motor pump as power has the most commercial application prospects,and lifting motor pump is the core equipment of marine mineral resources mining system.Hence,based on the two-stage lift motor pump developed independently by China,a new type of high-lift coarse-grained lift motor pump is proposed and its CFD analysis is carried out in the current paper.In this study,a new type of high-lift coarse-grained eight-stage lift pump is simulated by the CFturbo and PumpLinx software using CFD fluid calculation method.The simulation results are compared with the experimental results gained by the two-stage lift motor pump developed in China.The working characteristics of the new type of lift motor pump are analyzed and optimized in detail.The main contents are as follows:(1)The working point of lift motor pump is determined on the mining requirements of 5000 meters deep seabed mineral resources.The structural parameters and the design parameters of the over-current components in the pump are determined on the maximum flow method.As a result,the overall structure is determined for the lift pump.(2)The turbulence model and standard ??-model of lift motor pump are determined,and the motion equation of the coarse particles in the impeller is established by analyzing the force of coarse particles in the pump.The pre-processing works,such as grid mesh generation and the mesh quality check,are performed additionally.(3)In case of the clear water and solid-liquid two-phase flow and the rated speed of 1450r/min,the pump is simulated and analyzed by PumpLinx software under different flow conditions.The velocity,pressure and streamline nephograms indicate that the structure design of the vane and guide vane in the pump is reasonable.Thechange of the performance parameters in the pump is verified by comparing the simulation results with experiment data.In addition,the lift and efficiency of pump are higher than those in the experiment,certifying the correctness of pump.(4)The flow and wear of coarse particles in the flow passage are investigated by numerically analyzing the annular flow passage between the upper pump and the lower pump,in order to verify the overflow capacity of annular flow passage in the pump.
