| The mechanism of electrostatic discharge(ESD)is complex,which can cause complex and serious harms to electronic equipment through different effects.However,the randomness of electrostatic discharge is strong in reality,so its repeatability is poor.Therefore,the corresponding electrostatic discharge models have been established to simulate the actual electrostatic discharge.Based on these models,related standards such as IEC 61000-4-2 are also established.ESD simulator,the ESD testing equipment’s characteristics is stipulated and the ESD testing is standardized in IEC standard,which greatly improves the repeatability of the test.However,in the implementation of standard,the problem of poor repeatability still exists,the main reason of which is the repeatability of electromagnetic field produced by ESD simulator,furthermore,the electromagnetic field will have a great influence on the ESD test of electronic equipment.Therefore,the main research content of this paper is the establishment and experimental verification of the simulation models of ESD simulator,focusing on the simulation and verification of electrostatic discharge electromagnetic field coupling of full-wave model.The simulation of ESD simulator is of great significance,which can produce stable results effectively and provide a strong reference for testing.The main work is as follows:According to the structure of actual ESD simulator,the circuit model and full-wave model of ESD simulator are established in PSPICE and CST respectively.According to the standard current waveform and related parameters in IEC 61000-4-2,the circuit model and full-wave model are preliminarily validated.Based on the circuit model and combined with nonlinear arc impedance model,calculation is finished in MATLAB to verify the effect of discharge gap on air discharge current.Printed circuit board(PCB)is very sensitive to electrostatic discharge,so PCB is chosen as the equipment to be test to verify the electromagnetic field coupling of full-wave model.ESD test to PCB is carried out systematically.The effects of discharge mode,discharge voltage,discharge position as well as the length,width and terminal resistance of PCB trace on the electromagnetic field coupling are studied by coupling voltage,and finally,the electromagnetic field coupling laws of the trace are obtained.The full-wave models of PCB and IEC 61000-4-2 immunity test platform are established.Combined with the full-wave model of ESD simulator,the ESD test is carried out in the simulation environment,and the simulation results are obtained.The magnitude of test and simulation data of coupling voltage as well as the laws of electromagnetic field coupling is compared.The results show that the simulation can reproduce the electromagnetic field coupling in the actual ESD test in a way,which indicates that the validity of the full-wave model of ESD simulator has been further verified and the coupling laws obtained by the test have also been verified again through the simulation results.In this paper,the validity of the full-wave model is verified from a new angle of the electromagnetic field coupling laws of PCB,and the mutual verification of the coupling laws obtained from the test and simulation provides a reference for the application of full-wave model of ESD simulator. |
