| There have been many studies on the impact of family factors on behavior preferences.However,literature analyzing the impact of birth order on behavior preferences is relatively rare.Taking the economic game as the experimental scenario,this paper study in an experiment with undergraduate students from Zhejiang University of Technology how birth order affect altruism,trust,risk and competition preferences.The experimental data shows that the second born students are less altruistic in the dictator game,which means there is a birth effect in altruism preference.In terms of trust and trusted behavior,the second born students are more trusting.Meanwhile,the birth order does not affect the level of trusted.In terms of risk preference,there is a certain but not significant difference in all students.The second born students are more risk taking only with same-sex siblings.In terms of competitive preference,the competition preference of second born students is significantly higher than the first born students.The conclusions of this paper have certain research significance in understanding factors influencing behavior preferences and revealing the birth order effect in behavior preferences... |
