River aquatic ecosystem has played an important role in the process of human's evolution,it not only provides rich fresh water resources and food for human life,but also ecological and social service function in spirit level.In recent years,as the rapid development of China's industrialization and urbanization,the phenomenon of irrational use of water resources,deforestation,destruction of vegetation,have happened frequently,especially poor public environmental conservation awareness and lack of conservation awareness of river and other water resources are all the reasons for the declination of river aquatic ecosystem health.So to evaluate the health condition of river aquatic ecosystem by the appropriate means will not only do good for knowing the rivers,state,judging the interference of human activities on the river ecosystem,but also provide scientific basis for decision maker designing policies of river management.Qing River is the most important drinking water sources of Tieling city,Liaoning Province.It has Ala River,Nianpan River,Mazhong River,Taibi River and many other tributaries.At present,Qing River has some problems about water quality deterioration and health condition declinationxcn,under the influence of the irrational use of water resources for agricultural and industrial pollution.If we do not take actions to recover the condition of the river,it will seriously affect the coordinated development of urban agglomeration in central of Liaoning Province,especially for water ecological protection of the Shenyang region.Based on the investigation of the water quality,periphytic algae,macrobenthos,riparian condition and habitat conditions of 22 different hydrologic sections of Qing River from June 2011,weve made water quality and Biological assessment.So we have grasped the water quality and biological state.And biological assessment contains the two aspects of aquatic organisms and macrobenthos.We also use the method of system clustering analysis to optimize the selection of the 22 sections.The indicators and their weights for the health assessment of aquatic ecosystem in the river were screened and determined by the method of principal component analysis,and the River's health assessment indicator system and health assessment standard system were constructed.The modified Weber-Fischna law was also used to evaluate the aquatic ecosystem health condition at fourteen optimized sections of the River and eventually the study reached the following conclusions:(1)The water quality analysis of Qing River shows that:the water quality of the whole watershed of Qing River is in a good condition,and 8 hydrologic sections have a third level or more higher standard,7 in forth level,1 in fifth level,and others are worse than the fifth level.(2)The biological assessment is consist of periphytic algae and macrobenthos.Periphytic algae assessment shows that:Qing river aquatic ecosystem is in clean-light pollution condition.Erzhaizi(main stream)has a lowest diversity index and it is in light pollution condition.Only Wulu river and Yehe river of the nine tributaries are in light pollution condition.Macrobenthos BI index shows that:Qing river aquatic ecosystem is in clean-middle pollution condition.Menlian has a highest BI index which is in middle pollution condition.And Taoran has a lowest BI index which is in clean condition.(3)Using cluster analysis of SPSS 17.0 to optimize the 22 hydrologic sections,and eventually we retain 14 sections to be evaluated according to the actual situation and environment features of Qing River.(4)we eventually retain 11 indicators of the 20 candidates by principal component analysis and the correlation analysis.The indicators are consist of DO?COD?BOD?Ammonia nitrogen?TP?Fluoride?Volatile phenol?Petroleum?DAA?BI and HQI.(5)The health assessment of Qing River aquatic ecosystem shows that:among the sections being evaluated,six of them had a health level,two of them had a sub-health level,1 in worse level and the other five reached a fair health level.
