The SIW antenna is widely used in a variety of communication systems,especially the SIW multi-band antenna and the SIW end-fire antenna,which overcomes the shortcomings of additional electromagnetic wave radiation and leakage.However,as the requirements of antenna performance are increasingly high,it becomes a difficult challenge to design a SIW antenna with wide bandwidth,good direction,low profile,low mutual coupling,small size,and easy integrated in academia area.In this paper,SIW technology and metamaterial technology are used to design two new type of metamaterial structure.This Paper applied the two new type of metamaterial to the newly designed SIW multi-band antenna and SIW end-fire antenna.The main work are as follows:(1)The paper designs a extended double "fork" type metamaterial and a extended double "bow" type metamaterial.The extended double "fork" type metamaterials consist of a forked metal patch,as well as four forked metal patch around the forked metal patch.The extended double "bow" type metamaterials consist of a pair of back to back bow metal patch with a rectangular metal patch crossing it.On the band 20GHz-40GHz,the effective permittivity and effective permeability of the extended double "fork" type metamaterial are not always less than zero,the effective permittivity and the effective permeability of the extended double "bow' type metamaterial is less than zero.(2)A T-type SIW antenna with metamaterials is designed.To achieve multi-band,two metamaterial structural units are vertically arranged on the left and right of T-type radiation patch,the resonance points of antenna are located at 24GHz,29GHz and 33 GHz.(3)A X-band SIW end-fire antenna with wide lobe,high gain is designed.The antenna radiator consists of a pair of vibrators and a pair of electric dipoles.The extended double"bow" type of ultra-material is added in the back of the dipole and at the front of oscillator.The simulation results show that the left and right sidelobes of the H-plane of the antenna are reduced 3dB-5dB and the gain of the antenna is increased by 1dB-2dB.(4)A millimeter wave ultra wideband SIW end-fire antenna array is designed.The new design of the extended double "fork" type metamaterials were added to the antenna array and arranged in three different ways,and the influence of isolation and gain of the array brought by metamaterials are also analyzed.
