The coal spontaneous combustion is one of the major accidents in the process of coal production, coal storage and transportation. So it is of great practical significance to study the law of coal spontaneous combustion in order to improve the safety of coal industry. And based on the theory of coal and oxygen, the physical adsorption of coal is a prerequisite for the occurrence of coal spontaneous combustion, and it plays an important role in the spontaneous combustion process. The study of the law of coal adsorption oxygen is of great theoretical significance for deep understanding of coal spontaneous combustion mechanism.Through access to relevant literature review of domestic and foreign, this paper explained the background, the basic theory and seepage models of LBM(Lattice Boltzmann method).According to the research problem, the unique advantages of the lattice Boltzmann method and its successful application in the porous medium flow, this paper presented a scheme for simulating the physical adsorption process of coal by using LBM.The appropriate porous media flow LBM model and the gas adsorption equation was selected. The physical model of coal and oxygen adsorption was established.According to the macroscopic seepage control equation, the program was completed. Then the numerical simulation of physical adsorption of coal was completed. The flow properties of oxygen in coal were studied, the influence of temperature and porosity on oxygen uptake was studied qualitatively. In order to verify the simulation results and explore factors that affect the oxygen uptake,an experimental scheme of physical adsorption of coal samples was designed, and the experimental operation and the matters needing attention were also given.Three experiments were designed from different angles of temperature, metamorphism and porosity. The effects of oxygen on the oxygen uptake were studied. And the experimental results were analyzed and summarized.
