Synthesis from 1-butene and acetic acid with reactive distillation is a promising technique to produce sec-butyl acetate.This process not only can improve the reaction conversion but promote the separation of components.The design of the reactive distillation column is the most critical and important process in application,while the unreasonable design may lead to the failure of the process strengthen.This thesis used the graphical design method to conduct a preliminary design of reactive distillation column for sec-butyl acetate synthesis.The detailed research contents are presented as follows:(1)A reliable high pressure VLE device was developed to measure the VLE of binary systems ?1-butene(1)+ sec-butyl acetate(2)} and {1-butene(1)+ acetic acid(3)} and the ternary system {1-butene(1)+ sec-butyl acetate(2)+acetic acid(3)} at 349.8K and 364.7K.Then,the binary interaction parameters were regressed with the binary experimental data to fit ternary system,the results showed that the calculated data had a good agreement with the experiments.(2)The feasibility of sec-butyl acetate synthesis for the single feed and double feeds reactive distillation technology were carried out,based on thermodynamic and kinetic data.The results of the reactive residue curve showed a minimum azeotrope and a rectification boundary,when Da=0,which disappeared with the increase of Da.When Da?0.03,acetic acid was the only stable point in the system and there was no reactive azeotrope in the whole reactive process.The reactive space was on the chemical equilibrium line.Furthermore,the reactive extractive curve had the similar trend to the rcactive residue curve,so,when 1-butene was obtained in the top and none of the pure separation was added,the bottom only could obtain the reactive mixture whether in the single feed or double feeds reactive distillation column.(3)On the basis of feasibility analysis,the structure of reactive rectifying and pure stripping was selected for the reactive distillation column,by Static Analysis,while the composition of top and bottom were 1-butene and mixture of sec-butyl acetate-acetic acid.When 1-butene was obtained in the top,the maximum conversion rate of acetic acid was 87%,at the same time,the content of 1-butene in the feed must exceed 46%.(4)Based on the above-results,the Boundary Value Design(BVD)method was applied to carry out the design for a reactive distillation column.It was found that the available interval of sec-butyl acetate at the bottom was 0 to 78%.When the conversion rate of 1-butene was 66%,the minimum boiling ratio of the process was 1.3 for equimolar feed reactive distillation column.The theoretical plate numbers of reactive rectifying was 6 and the pure stripping was 5,when the boiling ratio was 2.(5)Finally,the graphical design method was used to analysis the some examples of reactive distillation,and the feasible column configurations were addressed.
