The casting process design has an important influence on the casting yield,quality and production costs.The traditional casting process design process relied more on production experience and there was little precise calculation.The success or failure of the inspection process design often requires multiple trials.Once the process design is unreasonable,it often requires a lot of manpower and material resources.With the rapid development of computer software development and hardware function in recent years,more and more companies and related research departments have paid attention to the development of casting-related computer process design software.Although computer-aided design(CAD)software for casting processes has achieved certain development in recent years,the related development work is mostly secondary development with the aid of secondary development packages provided by developers of CAD software.The secondary development package provides limited API interfaces and does not support developers to add new function interfaces.Therefore,such software often has many limitations in functionality and is difficult to upgrade and maintain.This article uses the source code of SINOVATION software which independently researched and developed by Shanda Huatian Software to create a casting process development kit for ductile iron wind turbine hub casting and design CAD command for different types of wind turbine hub casting to improve the work efficiency of process designers,reduced R&D costs for wind turbine casting.Based on the SINOVATION software development platform,this article first integrates the process design method for common castings in the process manual with the common wind turbine hub technology in the market,designs a new process design algorithm for wind turbine hubs,and determines the framework of the system;then uses the SINOVATION software base to design a friendly user interface which was written in the XML language;Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 was selected as the development tool,and the C++ language was written to achieve the data interaction with the interface.the function of process calculation and three-dimensional modeling;After compilation,linking and debugging the program.We finished the development of multiple modules including process parameter initialization,gating system design,gate cup design,modulus calculation,riser design,chill design,and related auxiliary functions.The casting process initialization command can place the casting diagram of the first time into the software according to the actual production position,so that the central axis of the casting coincides with the world coordinate Z axis of the software.This placement method is more in line with the actual production of the casting in the sand mold.This position of casting facilitates the subsequent design work of the craftman;and this command can save the casting parameters that are used multiple times in the process design to the hard disk,avoiding the tedious work of the process designer who enters the same process parameters multiple times.The gating system design adopts Big hole outflow principle to design the runner,supports a variety of different types of gating design,and basically covers the mainstream gating system design solutions in the market;and we also design a new gating system filtering part algorithm to calculate the size of the filtering part,which can help the user quickly select the filter plate model,size and design a reasonable slag measures.The modulus calculation command covers the module calculation function of the overall casting and local area of the casting,and supports the use of the modulus-related parameters for other process design commands.The user does not need repeated calculations.We design a riser volume algorithm based on the shrinkage modulus method in riser design command.This algorithm takes into account of the feeding action of the runner,and it is calculated accurately in accordance with the self-feeding characteristics of the ductile iron and the principle of balanced solidification.The chill design command has designed a new algorithm for chill size and the arrangement based on the shape characteristics of the wind turbine hub.The wind turbine hub casting CAD system developed in this paper can meet the production needs of the process,designers can use the system to quickly generate existing wind turbine wheel casting process on the market and can design a new casting process with the help of the internal process calculation.There is a complete data interaction network between the commands of the entire system,eliminating the need for designers to calculate or input the same process parameters many times,which greatly improves the efficiency of process design.In addition,using the XML language of SINOVATION software and fully considering the work habits of process designers,this article designs a friendly Interactive interface.Finally,it directly writes and enriches API library functions from the level of the software source code,which facilitates subsequent software developers' upgrade and optimization.
