Two new types of lignosulfonate were synthesized from xylose residue in this paper.The optimum reaction conditions were obtained by the investigation of various factors that influenced the performance indicators of products.The structure of the product was characterized by FTIR,and a reasonable reaction mechanism was proposed.The properties of dispersity of sand grinding,thermal stability,high temperature dispersion ability,staining property were investigated for the dye dispersants.The producing design and cost estimation of the two dye dispersants were also carried out.Using xylose residue as raw materials,alkaline hydrolysis reaction was carried out in order to get the lower kappa number of cellulose.The purified liquid was obtained by the above alkaline hydrolysis solution.The purified liquid,sodium sulfite and formaldehyde reacted under alkaline condition,then followed by the reaction with epoxy chloropropane.The final product,the modified sulfonylated lignin,was obtained.The optimum reaction conditions for alkaline hydrolysis reaction were reaction temperature 90 ?,reaction time 4h,and the dosage of NaOH to the solid content in xylose residue 8%.The optimum reaction conditions for sulfomethylation were as reaction time 4h,reaction temperature 95 ?,the molar to mass ratio of sodium sulfite to solid content in alkaline lignin solution 2.5mmol/g,the molar to mass ratio of formaldehyde to solid content in alkaline lignin solution 1.5mmol/g.The optimum reaction conditions for the modification of sulfomethylation were as reaction temperature 95 ?,reaction time 1h,the molar to mass ratio of epoxy chloropropane to solid content in sulfomethylation alkaline lignin solution 0.95mmol/g,the initial pH value 12.5.Based upon the chemical structure of the product by FTIR and the literatures,a plausible reaction mechanism was proposed for the reaction.The product has good quality for dispersity of sand grinding,thermal stability,and high temperature dispersion ability,and lower staining property.It can be widely used in dyestuff grinding and dye-dilution.The industrial producing design of the modified sulfomethylation alkaline lignin was carried out.According to the producing requirements,the process flow chart is designed,the technical parameters of the main equipments were given.The material balance chart is drawn according to the experimental results.The production of 1t product consumes 6.82t xylose residue(65%water),40%liquid caustic soda 0.48t,97%sodium sulfite 0.2t,37%formaldehyde 0.08t,epoxy chloropropane 0.08t,10%liquid caustic soda 0.09t,distilled water 16.57t.At the same time,3.75t cellulose with solid content of 35%and 13.41t alkali lignin wastewater with solid content of 4.71%were produced.According to the consumption of raw materials,it is reckon that the gross profit of the product is up to 32.5%.Using xylose residue as raw materials,the final product of sodium lignosulphonate was produced by the reaction with sodium sulfite and formaldehyde,and followed by membrane filter purification.The optimum reaction conditions were obtained as:reaction temperature 95?,reaction time 4h,the molar to mass ratio of sodium sulfite to xylose residue 1.5mmol/g,the molar to mass ratio of formaldehyde to xylose residue 0.7mmol/g,the initial pH value 11.0.Based upon the chemical structure of the product by FTIR and literatures,a plausible reaction mechanism was proposed for the reaction.The product has good quality for dispersity of sand grinding,thermal stability,and high temperature dispersion ability.It can be widely used in vat dyestuff grinding and dye-dilution.The industrial producing design of sodium lignosulphonate was also carried out.According to the producing requirements,the process flow chart is designed,the technical parameters of the main equipments were given.The material balance chart is drawn according to the experimental results.The production of It product consumes 19.98t xylose residue(65%water),40%liquid caustic soda 0.17t,97%sodium sulfite 1.36t,37%formaldehyde 0.40t,and distilled water 49.08t.At the same time,2.33t industrial water reducer and 13.98t cellulose were produced.According to the consumption of raw materials,it is reckon that the gross profit of the product is up to 16.41%.
