On The Making Crafts Of Chinese Ancient Cosmetics

In ancient China,on the basis of daily experience,people invented cosmetics for facial,hand,hair and other parts.After thousands of years of development and accumulation,a treasure house of ancient cosmetics with unique Chinese characteristics has been formed.The technology of ancient cosmetic production embodies the intelligence and wisdom of ancient people,and also shows the technical characteristics that ancient people laid emphasis on utility,experience and influence of traditional Chinese medicine.At the same time,for the development of modern cosmetics,it has laid a foundation for the variety,the method of making and the pursuit of efficacy.It reflects the dual pursuit of material and spiritual life in ancient times,reflects the aesthetic standards of ancient people,and has great practical value in the contemporary era.It is a treasure house for us to excavate and utilize.Research on ancient cosmetics,it is mainly from three aspects of production technology,technical characteristics and modern value.First of all,according to the definition of modern cosmetics and classification methods,combined with the actual situation of ancient cosmetics,the ancient cosmetics were classified.This paper explores the classification,effect and making crafts of every kind of cosmetics.It carries on a simulation experiment research with samples of representative facial fat,Xiangze,face powder and rouge,in order to reproduce the making crafts and explore the details of the production and the forms of ancient cosmetics.Secondly,on the basis of in-depth analysis of the literature of ancient cosmetics making crafts,it is concluded that the ancient cosmetics making has practical and experiential characteristics,and the advantages and disadvantages of these characteristics of ancient cosmetics are analyzed.At the same time,from the analysis of raw materials,technology and cosmetic form of ancient cosmetics,it is considered that ancient cosmetics are deeply influenced by ancient Chinese medicine and have significant traditional Chinese medicine characteristics.Finally,we excavate the modern value of Chinese ancient cosmetics making technology and discuss the contemporary inspiration of ancient cosmetics from several aspects,such as the use of raw materials,cosmetic formulations,the use of science and technology,and the popularity of contemporary green and sustainable development concepts.Meanwhile,on the basis of analyzing the connection and difference between ancient cosmetics and modern national industrial cosmetics,we focus on the field investigation of Suzhou and Yangzhou’s Xie Fuchun and Dai Chunlin cosmetics enterprises to understand their development status.
