Capacitive deionization,as an emerging water treatment technology,has some advantages of low energy consumption,simple construction and no by-products,which are attracting more and more attentions with the development of carbon material.In order to improve the desalination efficiency of CDI,a cyclic CDI device was used for traditional CDI experiments including desalination performance tests and the optimization of CDI process,etc.On this basis,the desalination efficiency of CDI was improved,and the related mechanism was analyzed.The research results will be helpful to improve the desalination efficiency of CDI and the develop industrialized CDI system.The main research contents and results are as follows:The desalination efficiency of CDI is further improved by placing different separators.Iron and carbon separators are helpful to improve the desalination efficiency of CDI,on the contrary,paper separators decrease it.Adsorption kinetics studies shows that the adsorption and desorption of CDI,SSF-CDI and CNT-CDI system all fit the first-order kinetic model with the correlation coefficients greater than 0.98.Three kinds of CDI system are mainly based on electrosorption to remove sodium chloride.Adsorption thermodynamics studies shows that the adsorption of sodium chloride by CDI,SSF-CDI and CNT-CDI system are in accordance with the Langmuir isothermal adsorption model,and the correlation coefficients are all greater than 0.98.The adsorption of sodium chloride on the three kinds of CDI system is mainly mono-layer adsorption.The ?G of CDI,SSF-CDI and CNT-CDI systems was negative in all tests,indicating that the process of removing sodium chloride was spontaneous.Electrode removal of sodium chloride process for the exothermic reaction,the temperature is not conducive to the removal of sodium chloride adsorption,the lower the temperature is conducive to the removal of sodium chloride.Removing sodium chloride is mainly driven through the Coulomb force.The entire adsorption process is the process of sodium chloride changing from the disordered state to the ordered state.
