Nanofiber materials exhibit limited mechanical properties when used alone and are easily delaminated from the substrate when directly deposited on it because of poor adhesion. To improve the adhesion between nanofiber membranes and substrates,a hot melt adhesive powder sprinkling device which can control particle size and amounts of powder was designed after studying preparation and pressing processes of fusible interlinings.Hot melt adhesive powder was sprinkled over the substrate. Then PVA nanofibers were evenly deposited on the powder-coated substrate by needleless electrospinning with spiral disk spinnerets.Nanofiber composite fabrics were fabricated via a hot-press lamination process and were expected to be used as protective clothing's fabric, lining, etc. The influence of hot-press condition, amounts of powder, particle size and types of substrates on adhesive properties of composite materials were studied. In this paper,a preliminary attempt was made to use the nanofiber composite as a lining of outdoor jacket and its properties of particles protective,thermal-wet comfortability and wash durability were also investigated. It laid the foundation for further development of more functional nanofiber protective clothing. The main results were as follows:The structure and properties of fusible interlining for garments:All four substrate fabric fibers of interlining are polyester. The hot-melt adhesive powder used for interlining W-PA-1 and W-PA-2 is polyamide(PA),while interlining NW-LDPE and NW-EVA respectively use low density polyethylene(LDPE)and ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer(EVA)as adhesive.Uniform particle size and regular distribution of powder on interlining W-PA-1 and W-PA-2 with 7 g/m2 amount of powder were observed, because of using double point coating process. However, powder scattering coating resulted in uneven particles and disordered distribution of powder on interlining NW-LDPE(13.23 g/m2 amount of powder)and NW-EVA(11.57 g/m2 amount of powder).A hot-press laminate process was applied on polyester fabric and interlinings by iron. The results showed that interlining W-PA-1 and W-PA-2 were 7 times the peeling strength and about 10 times the peeling energy of interlining NW-LDPE.High bonding fastness caused interlining NW-EVA directly broken during peeling test. For interlining W-PA-1,W-PA-2 and NW-LDPE,there was no hot-melt adhesive penetration, while interlining NW-EVA existed.Preparation method of hot-melt adhesive substrates:Self-designed powder sprinkling device was used. The distribution uniformity, particle size and amounts of powder could be effectively controlled by using several screen meshes and a certain frequency of vibration. The hot-melt adhesive powder preliminarily adhered to the substrate after pretreatment and the optimum condition was 110 ? and 3 min.Preparation and adhesion properties of nanofiber hot-melt adhesive composite fabrics:Nanofiber composites could be prepared by electrospinning and hot-press laminating. The adhesion effect between the nanofiber membrane and the substrate could be controlled by adjusting the hot-press lamination process. With increasing laminating temperature and prolonging laminating time, the peeling strength and peeling energy of composite fabrics respectively increased to 1.60~7.01 times and 1.86~6.84 times as compared with the sample without treatment. The air permeability of the composites had little difference after hot-press laminating and there was no hot-melt adhesive penetration. When the hot-press pressure was 0.1 MPa,the optimum laminating conditions were 120 ?/13 s?120 ?/18 s and 130 ?/8 s.Under the same hot-press condition, with the increase of the amount of powder or the decrease of the particle size of powder, the bonding fastness between nanofiber membrane and the substrate was enhanced. When the particle size, the amount of powder and the laminating condition were 75 ?m,0.57±0.10 g/m2 and 120 ?/13 s,respectively, the adhesion property of the composite was excellent with 21.72±2.91 c N peeling strength and 12.56±2.74 J/m2 peeling energy.Under the same hot-press condition, composites prepared by different substrates exhibited different adhesion fastness,of which, taffeta > nylon > silk habotai > non-woven.Thermal-wet comfortability and wash durability of nanofiber hot-melt adhesive composite fabrics:The filtration efficiency of PVA nanofiber membrane electrospinning for 30 min was 99.11%.When the nanofiber membrane/nylon composite was applied to outdoor jacket, the presence of nanofiber membrane improved the thermal insulation property, and it had no effect on the water vapour transmission rate and the air permeability. The PVA nanofiber membrane/nylon composite exhibited good wash durability. When using soak washing, the material could be washed more than 20 times.
