Fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites have been attracted the attention of researchers because of their advantages of good mechanical properties, damage resistance, rapid formation, small density, recyclable and repairable.PEEK has excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and high working temperature. It can be applied to automotive industry, aviation industry, chemical industry, medicine and other fields demanding rigorous material properties. It can be used in the automobile industry, aviation industry, chemical industry, medicine and other requirements of high performance materials field. However, the preparation technology of carbon fiber/PEEK composites are complex and it is not widely used. This paper intended to make high-performance continuous carbon fiber reinforced PEEK composites.Using PESEKK as a transition material and treatment of continuous carbon fibers by acetone made carbon fiber prepreg, the experiment used heat-die pressing process to make the prepreg and PEEK combine.Through the study, the hot pressing process was optimized. The composite structure was observed by high intensity microscope, scanning electron microscope and metallographic microscope. It was found that the resin penetrated deeper into the fiber bundle and the interface between carbon fiber and peek was good.Continuous carbon fiber/PEEK composites have good mechanical properties. When the carbon fiber content is 21%,the mechanical properties of the composites are as follows:the strength is not less than 281.7MPa;elongation is greater than or equal to 2.3%;the young modulus is larger than 17.09GPa;the impact strength is more than 33.51KJ/m~2.The electromagnetic parameters of different layers of carbon fiber were tested. The CCF/PEEK composite material with 4 layers of carbon fiber prepreg has the best properties of microwave-absorbing.The loss factor is 1.81 when the frequency is2.31GHz.
