Polycarbonate(PC)is a universal engineering plastic with high-performance and thermostability,and the application range of PC plastic is more and more widely.Talc,MoS2-which with different shapes and sizes and Talc-MoS2 nano-composites are added into the PC' plastic substrate to improve PC's mechanical and tribological properties.We separately adopted hydrothermal synthesis and chemical precipitation to prepare nano-MoS2 and Talc-MoS2 nano-composites.We also adopted hot briquetting technique to prepare three-layer self-lubricated plain bearing composite materials.which covered with PC polymer on a metal substrate.This work presents certain innovative and research value in the innovation of new nanomaterials synthesis,the development of self-lubricating sliding bearings,and mechanical tribology,and other fields.The prepared MoS2 and it's composites are characterized by SEM,XRD and Raman.MoS2 were successfully coated on the surface of the large-particle of the Talc and MoS2 is like a lubricating coating.In addition,the form of MoS2 were controlled,and the form of the coated MoS2 is more orderly,without any obvious agglomeration phenomenon.From the SEM images and EDS diagrams,it can be seen that the prepared MoS2 nano-spheres are around 100 nm.The mechanical and thermal properties of the modified PC composites are characterized by micro-hardness tester,universal tensile tester and thermogravimetric analysis.The addition of the Talc,MoS2 and Talc-MoS2 nano-composites can increase the hardness of PC plastic.However,micro-sized Talc and MoS2 are more effective than the nano-sized MoS2.It may be that micro-sized additives can reduce the stress concentration of PC plastic.At the same time,the reduction of plastic tensile property of the micro-sized Talc are much less than nano-MoS2.Finally,by testing the TGA performance of PC composites,it can be known that adding nano-sized MoS2 can increase the thermal decomposition temperature and thermal stability of PC plastic.The wear scars that after the friction test are characterized by using SEM,EDS and 3D profilometer,and different additives has different tribological properties to PC plastic.Talc has a significant effect on anti-friction,but the effect on anti-wear is poorer than MoS2,while nano-MoS2 has better lubrication performance than others,the anti-wear and anti-friction effects were increased by 50.8%and 54.5%,respectively.For the Talc-MoS2 composites,the anti-wear and anti-friction effects were increased by 50.8%and 54.5%,respectively,and the large particle Talc acts as a bearing loader,while the function of nano-MoS2 are sliding and generating a transfer membrane.The synergistic mechanism of the Talc and MoS2 further improve the lubricating performance of the PC plastic.
