Selective Laser Melting technology is a rapid prototyping technology which is based on layered overly manufacture.The principle is to use a high-energy laser beam to directly act on the metal powder and melt it to solidify.The technology is widely used in aerospace,medical and military industries due to its high forming accuracy and freedom from the limitations of complex parts.Although the selective laser melting technology can form parts with complex structures and shapes,the forming quality is often unsatisfactory.In the experiment of forming a complex-shaped workpiece,it was found that a small area of the workpiece was prone to overheating,and the higher the forming height,the poorer the forming quality of the small area.In order to solve the problem of overheating caused by heat accumulation in a small area,a temperature measurement platform based on an infrared thermometer was built in this paper.The surface temperature of the forming layer of the workpiece was monitored using an infrared thermometer and the effect of temperature on the forming quality was studied.Through the study of the Selective Laser Melting process,the appropriate laser power,scanning speed and the corresponding width of single melted track were determined.And the influence of different scanning strategies on the quality of the formed parts was analyzed,which provided experimental basis for subsequent temperature measurement.Through analyzing the relationship between forming temperature of the workpiece and forming area,an explanation is given that small-area of the workpiece is easily burned.By analyzing the temperature of the workpiece forming layer under different process parameters,the effect of laser power and scanning speed on the temperature of the forming layer was obtained.In order to solve the problem that small area of the workpiece are prone to burning,this article used infrared thermometers to monitor the temperature of forming layer of the small area.Through the adjustment of laser power and scan speed to control the temperature of forming layer during forming process,the forming quality of small area of the workpiece were improved.
