Ultrafine copper powder is characterized by good conductivity and thermal conductivity, small particle size, good corrosion resistance,no magnetism, smooth surface and strong fluidity. The field of electricity and metallurgy industry for the high demand of ultrafine copper powder. At present, the preparation methods of ultrafine copper powder are mainly physical, chemical and physical chemical methods. These methods are difficult to overcome in the aspects of purity and granularity, production cost, reduction efficiency and environmental protection. In view of environmental protection and economy,a new process for preparing ultrafine copper powder from corn starch by hydrothermal reduction of Cu O was proposed. In this experiment, ultrafine copper powder was prepared by hydrothermal reduction of Cu O with sodium hydroxide as catalyst, corn starch as reducing agent, and PVP as dispersant.Preparation of ultrafine copper powder hydrothermal reduction of copper oxide powder preparation. The high pressure hydrothermal reduction process has no pollution to the environment. The products obtained have high purity, small particle size, narrow and uniform particle size distribution. This paper discusses the reaction principle of corn starch hydrothermal reduction of Cu O,using single factor method to control the different dosage of PVP experiment, and further use of XRD,SEM,laser particle distribution measuring instrument and to investigate the effects of different factors on copper powder composition, particle size and oxidation of differential scanning calorimetry, can affect the optimal research the parameters of preparation of high purity copper powder and the small size of various factors on the properties of copper. The mechanism of copper powder prepared by hydrothermal method was discussed, and the main conclusions are as follows:(1)The reaction temperature is 200,the reaction time is 100 min,the quality of the corn starch dosage is 8g,Cu O 10 g,Na OH quality is 10 g,liquid solid is 8:1,the speed was 300r/min,the optimum conditions of copper oxide reduction for corn starch water heat.(2)The hydrothermal reaction system for dynamic analysis and reduction process by product layer diffusion control and calculate the apparent activation energy of the reaction E=44.7791 k J/mol,reaction kinetics equation1+2(1-?)-3(1-?)2/3=1.288*103exp(5.385*103/T)t.(3)The addition of PVP can improve the dispersion of copper powder, with the increase of dosage of dispersant, reduction of copper particle size distribution becomes narrow, the micro morphology of spherical particles of uniform size;the addition of PVP can improve the oxidation resistance of copper, with the increase of PVP content, oxygen copper start temperature and peak temperature increase.(4)Under the same reaction temperature and the same reaction time, the comparison of different reductant shows that starch as reducing agent can reduce the ultrafine copper powder with finer particle size and higher oxidation resistance than cellulose.
