At present,the steel industry in our country focuses on the production of large-scale extra heavy plates steel,while the casting of large ingots is an important link in the manufacture of high-quality extra heavy plate.There are some problems with ordinary ingot casting.For example,the structure is coarse and the defects such as loose shrinkage and shrinkage are easy to occur.As a result,the internal defects of the ingot are serious,the yield rate of ingot is not high,and the loss of ingot mold is large.For the current status of molded production,this article according to the actual production needs of a domestic steel mill,aimed at the ingot in the solidification factors such as ingot height to diameter ratio,taper,riser height,thermal conductivity and thickness of the insulation board,heating agent heating time,pouring temperature simulation study.By using solidification simulation software,the geometric model of 60 t flat steel ingot was established.The simulation results were analyzed,which indicates that when the height-diameter ratio of Steel ingot is 2.5,ingot has the smallest but the longest internal center defects;when the height-diameter ratio of Steel ingot is 1.5,slag segregation is serious,so it is more reasonable to choose the steel ingot with height ratio of 2.0.selecting riser height of 540 mm can make sure productivity.In order to achieve the demolding process and to ensure sufficient heat above the ingot,selecting the ingot with about 3% taper is able to meet the production needs.Insulation panels with thermal conductivity of 0.15W·m-2·K-1 had the best insulation effect.The insulation effect of insulation panels with thickness of 60 mm and 80 mm are almost same.When the heating time is 70 min,there were almost no secondary shrinkage appears in riser area after solidification.Production guarantee pouring temperature between 1560 ?to 1630 ?is more reasonable.Through the simulation results to determine a reasonable casting process.The results showed that the actual production results were consistent with the simulation,and steel ingot quality was good.The defective level of steel plate is in line with GB2970-2004 ? level standards..
