Most free-form surfaces have complex shapes and large variations in curvature,Some curved surface parts need to work in complex and bad environment for a long time,so the demand for the processing quality is very high.As a processing method of the freeform surface,The belt grinding has a great influence on the quality of grinding and polishing.How to control the process parameters to achieve the quantitative removal of workpiece materials and improve the surface quality is a problem that needs to be solved in the grinding and polishing process.Based on the elastic contact theory,combined with the contact state between the drum-type wheel and the complex surface,this paper studies the theory of abrasive belt polishing material removal.The main research work is shown as follows:Based on Preston empirical equation,considering the influence of normal grinding force?radius of curvature?linear velocity of belt and feed rate on material removal,established material removal model and calculation the Preston equation by experimentally.Using MATLAB to simulate and analyze the influencing factors of the established material removal model and obtained it's influence,which provides the theoretical basis for the subsequent process experiment.Make trajectory planning for freeform surfaces,Derived the surface trajectory planning parameters based on the curvature of the surface and the shape features of the drum-type wheel,include knife step length?knife spacing and grinding bandwidth.Analyze the influence of curvature change on the trajectory planning parameters and give the relationship through simulation.Based on the shape of the drum-type wheel and the characteristics of the elastic deformation of the rubber material of the contact wheel,the elastic contact theory of drum-type wheel is verified according to the characteristics of pressure distribution on the surface of Hertz contact theory.Establish the finite element model of contact between drum-type wheel and workpiece using ABAQUS finite element analysis software.Analyzed the influence of drum-type wheel radius?normal grinding force?rubber hardness and curvature radius of workpiece on contact pressure distribution.Verified the elliptical contact parameters?surface removed profile and the grinding bandwidth by experimental.Conduct grinding and polishing experiment based on the established material removal model,Existing accuracy of the grinding force of the tool system.Develope the single factor experiment that affected the material removal factor on the curvature and grinding throwing force,Analyze and evaluate the surface quality of materials by changing the pressure of grinding and validate the theoretical model.
