Abstract/Summary:
Glycerol as the main byproduct of biodiesel,is an ideal renewable resource,hydrog-enolysis of glycerol to 1,2-propanediol can solve the problem of excess byproduct glycerol.1,2-propanediol can also bring some economic benefits,at the same time.In this thesis, two Cu-based catalysts were used for hydrogenation reaction. The main content of thesis was focused as follows.1.The influences of carrier particle sizes of CuO/SiO2 catalysts for hydrogenolysis of glycerol were studied by using mono-dispersed silica as models.Catalysts were prepar-ed by precipitation method with the average size of the silica supports varying of 10,20 un and 90 nm.Characterization of the catalysts show that the physical properties such as pore volume and BET surface area of the catalysts were largely affected by the carrier particle size of silica. However, the copper dispersion of the three samples were similar.XPS patterns show a difference in the chemical states of copper species, small carrier particle size induced formation of copper phyllosilicate, which prevents the copper species from aggregation and benefits on the stability of copper species in reaction.2.CuO/NiO composite oxide catalysts were prepared by calcining MOF Cu-Ni-BTC,and the activity of the catalyst in the hydrolysis of normal pressure was studied.H2-TPR and XPS patterns show a layered structure with more Cu in surface form Cu-Ni-BTC calcination.By comparing the CuO/NiO catalyst prepared by MOF and coprecipitation, the former has show higher stability and catalytic activity in the hydrolysis of glycerol.Through the investigation of the reaction conditions,it was found that the catalyst activity was the best in 493 K,60 mL/min H2 and 1 mL/h glycerol feed.
