With the strict implementation of environmental protection policy and improvement of the coal production capacity,it is imperative for coal storage mode to upgrade from open stockyard to closed coal yard.However,the coal has the characteristic of spontaneous combustion and the closed coal yard has the characteristic of poor ventilation and heat dissipation,so before the large-scale transformation of coal storage facilities,it is urgent to develop a set of intelligently safety monitoring system with high reliability,low price,strong adaptability and strong anti-interference.In this paper,after investigating the environment of closed coal yard and analyzing a lot of domestic and foreign relevant documents,a set of safetyintelligent monitoring and controling system is designed based on Programmable Logic Controller(PLC).The research work in this paper mainly includes the following aspects:(1)The research background and significance of the safety intelligent monitoring system for the closed coal storage facilities are summarized.And introduce the research status of related problems,including the coal spontaneous combustion process and prediction,fire source detection method and the pressure distribution of the material in silo.(2)The characteristics of bulk material in silo are studied and analyzed.Through building the discrete element model of silo and coal powder based on EDEM software,the flow state of bulk material and the pressure distribution in silo are simulated and analyzed,which lays the foundation for the research in the following section.(3)Construct the overall framework of the safety intelligent monitoring system for the coal silo,on the basis of the analysis of the key parameters of the site condition and the safety of the closed coal silo.In addition,introduce the components of the system,the design of the hardware and the selection of the hardware and design the electronic control circuit.(4)According to the requirements and function of each subsystem,I designed the PLC control program and the touchscreen's interface,and set the data communication process between devices.(5)By using Visual Studio 2012,the upper computer system is designed.The key parameters of monitoring database and data communication with the lower computer are set up.Besides,the man-computer interfaces are designed,including the single silo and the whole silos real-time monitoring interface,the alarm interface,the trend curve boundary,the report printing and so on.In a word,the system has the advantages of easy installation,high accuracy,strong anti-interference ability,no monitoring blind area and moderate price,which can well realize the requirements of coal silo.
