With the depletion of conventional fossil fuels,the environmental problems and energy crisis are becoming more and more serious,more and more attention is paid to the development and utilization of renewable biomass resources in nature to produce corresponding chemicals and energy consumables.Among them,5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)and 5-ethoxymethylfurfural(EMF)play a very important role in the conversion of biomass to high value-added chemicals and fuel additives.In the use of HMF and EMF,efficient conversion could be realized in the production of high value-added chemicals(hexanediol,furandicarboxylic acid,furfuryl alcohol,levulinic acid etc.)and alternative liquid fuel which can replace the traditional liquid fuel.This series of high-value-added chemicals is an important part of the production of other polymer materials,household products and liquid fuels.Therefore,how to produce HMF and EMF with high efficiency and high yield is the top priority for comprehensive utilization of biomass energy to solve the current energy crisis.Solid catalyst PTSA-POM--by the copolymerization of p-toluenesulfonic acid(PTSA)and paraformaldehyde(POM),which was prepared in our group before,was used with Lewis acid AlCl3·6H2O together both in the catalytic conversion of glucose to HMF in a new type green solvent system GVL/H2O and in the catalytic conversion of glucose to EMF in ethanol/H2O solvent system.Firstly,the optimum time,optimum temperature and the amount of water content in the solvent system GVL/H2O under the optimum conditions were studied.60.7%yield of HMF was obtained after 60 min in 140 ?,at this point,the best solvent ratio is 10:1(GVL/H2O).Besides,some other chlorides(FeCl3·6H2O,NiCl2·6H2O,CrCl3·6H2O etc.)were also explored in contrast with AICl3 6H2O in the catalytic conversion of glucose to HMF.Afterwords,the optimal time and temperature points for the reaction in ethanol/water solvent system were explored in the experiment of glucose catalytic conversion to EMF.30.6%yield of EMF and 11.5%yield of HMF were achieved after 30 min in 150 ?.In the further experiments,Some other second organic solvents(GVL,THF,DMSO etc.)were added to the ethanol/water solvent system in order to explore the effect in the generation of EMF.
