According to the current development of the chemical industry,high-efficiency?high-capacity packings are expected to be applied to the high-separation-demanding industries.The characteristics of traditional polyline type and impulse type packing are combined to design a new type of TPI structured packing.The polyline are smoothly connected at the angle of 45°-60°-30° horizontally,which forms a necking at the bottom.When the fluid passes through,the flow path will be disturbed to generate a change so as to promote the surface updating.A small section of straight line was designed on the top of each packing,which has a great effect on reducing the whole tower pressure drop.The cold model experiment was carried out in the DN500 mm plexiglass tower,using water-oxygen-air,under the normal temperature and pressure.During the experiment,the performances of three type TPI packings(TPI250,TPI500,TPI700)were measured.Compared to CY700 type packing,TPI700 tpye packing has following advantages:the dry pressure drop decreased by about 20%on average;the wet pressure drop significantly decreased when the spray density is identical;the flooding speed increased by 16.4%on average;the mass transfer performance improved significantly and the HETP decreased by an average of 16.6%.The traditional model was used to fit the dry and wet pressure drop and the gas flooding velocity of TPI packings.The results show that the relative deviation between the calculated value and the experimental value are within 10%,indicating that the correlation is accurate enough to predict the performance of TPI packing.Referring to the existing model,the appropriate assumptions were put forward based on the structural characteristics of TPI packing and the method of "Micro Generation Replacement" was used to make Momentum conservation analysis on microelement;The hydrodynamic model suitable for TPI type packing was established and a new parameter y was introduced to correct the gravitational acceleration.The results show that the relative deviation between the calculated value and the experimental value are within 10%,which indicates that the model has a high accuracy in predicting the performance of the TPI type packing.
