The conversion of abundant and cheap biomass to bio-alcohol,and then to liquid fuel as well as high added value chemicals,populates the world for the shortage of petroleum and the environmental concern,especially for China.The dehydration isomerization reaction of bio-alcohol is the key of above process,and its catalytic research by zeolites is earning the scientific even industrial attention.This first aim of this paper is to evaluate various zeolites to select those behaving well for the catalysis of the dehydration isomerization reaction of bio-alcohol,and the second aim is to develop the mass product method for the selected zeolites.To achieve the goals,three topics were successively studied as follows:1)pure butanol,as a representative compound for bio-alcohol,were used as reactants to evaluate the catalytic performance of three type zeolites which are significantly different in structure and acidity,including ZSM-5,ZSM-22,ZSM-35.Combining the characterization results of zeolites and Product analysis results,it was found that the one-dimension unidirectional channel in TON topological structure of ZSM-22 zeolite makes itself produce C5+ liquid branched olefins with the highest selectivity.And the introduction of intracrystalline mesoporous in parent ZSM-22 zeolites by desilicification can improve the catalytic performance further.2)Compared to other zeolites selected,the ZSM-22 also behave better in catalyzing the ABE and IBE solutions to produce C5+ liquid branched olefins.It was found that the zeolites are long in lifetime when using IBE solution than using ABE solution,which indicated the acetone in materials is important for catalyst activity.3)For the ZSM-22 zeolite of the best performance,its mass production using industrial materials was explored and developed.By the seed-induced method under the optimized conditions,the high-quality ZSM-22 zeolites,supported by the characterization results,were synthesized in batch reactor of 1 m3 reactor.
