There is still high energy consumption and emission in current coil coating.New green coatings gradually arise and are gotten hot research.Due to energy-saving,efficient and environmental-friendly features,ultraviolet(UV)curable technology is one of the preferred curing techniques for organic curing materials.The purpose of this paper is to synthesis coatings and research the applied performance of curing films based on UV curing technology and background of coil coating.First,castor oil-based UV curing coating was prepared.The prepolymer was synthesized with castor oil,PEG,MDI-50 and HEMA,and synthesis scheme and coating formulation were optimized.The experiment was characterized by FT-IR,TGA,flexibility,pencil hardness,tensile strength,etc.It is shown that the curing time of film is 16 s,the hardness is 2H,the flexibility is 1 mm,and the tensile strength is 13.9 MPa.It can meet the basic performance requirement of coil coating material.Second,UV curing coating with hyperbranched polymer was prepared.Xylitol-based hyperbranched polyester with good thermostability was synthesized.Prepolymer was synthesized with hyperbranched polyester,PEG,MDI-50 and HEMA,which reduced the use of solvent and improved the flexibility of the coating.The experiment was characterized by FT-IR,GPC,1H NMR,13C NMR,TGA and performance test of coating.The coatings with good comprehensive performance was reached.The result indicates that the curing time is 15 s,the hardness is 3H,the flexibility is 1 mm,and the tensile strength is 29.7 MPa.It can meet the basic performance requirement of coil coating material.Further,the storage time and adhesion of the two types of coatings were improved,and inorganic fillers were introduced into the coatings that reduced the cost and enhanced the performance of films.Added 12 wt.%kaolin,4 wt.%nano-iron oxide,4 wt.%barium sulfate to the two types of coatings,the result shows that the films have good thermostability,the wipe times with MEK are respective 103 and 274,pencil hardness are respective 3H and 5H,T bend values are both 0 T,adhesion have both 0 level.The coatings are sustainability and have excellent comprehensive performance.Hence,the two systems are suitable for coil coating products.
