The activated coke has wide applications because of its strong adsorption performance,high mechanical strength,stable chemical properties,and renewable advantages.Activated coke can realize the integrated removal of SO2,NOX,VOC,Hg and other pollutants in the flue gas.It especially shows the unique advantages in the treatment of the coke oven flue gas and sintering flue gas in coking and metallurgical industries.However,the pore structure and surface properties of activated coke have a significant effect on the removal performance of flue gas pollutants.The choice of raw material and the ratio of coal for the preparation of activated coke are important factors affecting the pore structure and surface properties.In this paper,Yangcheng coal?YC?,Xiangyuan coal?XY?and Fugu coal?FG?are used as the raw materials,and asphalt and coal tar mixture are used as binders to prepare activated coke.The effects of coal blending by the coal ranks on the active coke structure and surface chemical properties were studied.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:?1?The effects of coal types and coal blending on the carbonization weight loss and activation burning-off,iodine adsorption performance and desulfurization performance during the production of activated coke were examined.The Fugu coal?FG?with low coal-ranked has large carbonization weight loss and activation burning-off.The Yangcheng coal?YC?and Xiangyuan coal?XY?with high coal-ranked showed the significant lower carbonization weight loss and activation burning-off.When YC as the main raw material,was blended XY,the carbonization weight loss and activation burning-off changed little by comparison with the preparation process when using YC;When YC was blended with FG both the carbonization weight loss and the activation burning-off increased by comparison with the preparation process when using YC.When YC was blended with XY and FG,both the carbonization weight loss and the activation burning-off gradually decreased with the increase of XY and the decrease of FG.Compared with the processes of the activated coke prepared from the two kinds of coals,the change of the carbonization weight loss and the activation burning-off of those from the three kinds of coals were relatively stable.The sulfur capacity of the activated coke sample with higher iodine adsorption capacity is 49.5 mg/g.?2?The pore structure and microcrystalline structure changes of preparation of activated coke by mixing different coal types are studied.In studies using single coal for making activated coke,it has been found that the ultra-micropores of activated coke?ACY?made YC with high coal-ranked are most abundant,and activated coke?ACX?made XY with medium-high coal-ranked has relatively abundant sub-micropores,the micropores in activated coke?ACF?made FG with low coal-ranked are the most developed.The difference in ACY and ACX with close degree of coalification is mainly ultra-micropores and mesopores.With YC as the main raw material,the micropores of the two co-formulated activated cokes are higher than those produced by the two coals,and the mesopores are basically between two single-species coals.The difference between the three types of co-formulated activated coke is mainly ultra-micropores.In the research of using single coal to make activated coke,the graphitization degree of ACX is higher than that of ACY,but ACX is slightly more reactive than ACY,and the aromatic film of ACF is the most disordered.With YC as the main raw material,the change rule of the microcrystal structure of the two co-formulated activated coke is not obvious.The activated coke prepared by adding FG with YC as the main body is lower than the XY graphitization degree and the structure is more disordered.The relationship between the three types of activated coke microcrystalline structure of coal and the type of coal is not significant.The activated coke with a relatively low degree of graphitization has a strong adsorption capacity.?3?The chemical properties changes of preparation of activated coke by mixing different coal types are studied.The content of C=O functional groups on ACY surface of active coal with high coke of single coal is the highest.As the coal rank decreases,the content of C=O functional groups decreases,but the oxygen content on the surface of ACF in low coal ranks increases.The number of C=O functional groups and oxygen content on the activated coke surface of the two co-formulated coals are lower than ACY.When activated coke is compounded with three kinds of coal,most of the C=O functional groups on the surface are increased compared to the two coals,indicating that the desulfurization ability of the coal tends to increase.
